Minutes for meeting held on 19TH SEPTEMBER 2011
at Parkway Social Club

PRESENT: Doug Andrews (Chairman), Fran Harris (Treasurer),David Wilson, Tim Grace, Eileen McKie, Louise Bowes, Peter Phelps,, Racheal Smith, Malcolm Foster. Lorraine King

APOLOGIES:    Peter Greenfield

SPEAKER: Before the meeting proper we were given an interesting talk by Catherine Jackson of the HMRC on Taxation .She then went on to answer a series of questions posed by members. She also gave out various leaflets including lists of workshops available locally and FREE. As Catherine had to get back to Cambridge she was thanked by the meeting and stated that she was willing to come again next year if we would like her to.
MINUTES:   Minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted as a true record.
MATTERS ARISING: Doug told the meeting that he had spoken to Mary Edwards regarding providing a radio for the Test Centre and that one of the members had one which they would offer if it was acceptable.
CHAIRMANS REPORT:

 Doug read out an e-mail he had received from Asif to tender his resignation from his post as Secretary and Committee member due to ill health. The meeting expressed their sorrow at losing such a stalwart and wished him well in the future.

 Doug also read an e-mail from the DIA stating that they would be willing to attend one of our meetings and dicuss any topic we cared to choose.

 Doug informed the meeting that the Eastern Region MSA AGM would be held in Norwich and gave the meeting the details He would not be attending as he had a prior engagement on that date.

TREASURERS REPORT:

 Fran gave her report which was accepted.

SECRETARYS REPORT:

 Asif having resigned we have no Secretary and therefore there was no Secretary’s report.

SOCIAL EVENTS:

 Eileen was thanked for hosting the BBQ which was enjoyed by all the members who attended. The XMAS Dinner was discussed and members were asked to see what was available where and at what cost and report their findings.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS:

 There was no other business.
