Minutes for meeting & AGM held on 17th January 2011
at Parkway Social Club

PRESENT: Doug Andrews (Chairman), Fran Harris (Treasurer), Asif Rahemtulla (Secretary), Malcolm Foster, Eileen McKie,
David Wilson, Tim Grace, Louise Bowes, Peter Phelps, Lorraine King

APOLOGIES: None

MINUTES: Minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted as a true record.

MATTERS ARISING:

1 Eileen and Doug had recently attended a Motor Schools Association (MSA) regional meeting at Norwich which they found useful

and informative.

2 Doug has paid for the room hire for the rest of this year in order to save rising costs.

CHAIRMANS REPORT:

1 Doug and Asif both attended a MSA committee meeting at Kings Lynn. The committee have proposed that the next regional

meeting is held in Peterborough (TBC).

2 Doug thanked Fran on behalf of members for the excellent work and hard effort she put in, organising the Christmas dinner.

2 Doug reminded members that the MSA annual National Conference will be held on 19.03.11 at Doncaster.

TREASURERS REPORT:

1 Fran gave her new report which was accepted.

2 The accounts are showing a loss due to the fact that the 2011 room hire costs were taken out from last years budget.

2 Subscriptions are now due (£10 for associate member / £25 for full member).

SECRETARYS REPORT:

1 Asif had recently emailed members a copy of the “Internal Guidance for Driving Examiners”.

2Asif read out an email that he received from the Federation of Small Businesses regarding writing to MP’s about the increase

of fuel duty and prices. Asif will email this to all members who are urged to sign and email / post this to their local MP.

SOCIAL EVENTS:

None.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS:

1 A general discussion took place from a question raised by Peter regarding the advantages / disadvantages of running a diesel

vs petrol engine car.

2 A general discussion took place regarding road signage, roundabouts and planned road closures.

AGM:

1 Doug was re-elected as Chairman

2 Asif was re-elected as Secretary

3 Fran was re-elected as Treasurer

1 March 21st at Parkway Sports and Social Club, starting at the revised time of 8pm
